The Black Student Fund is a unique not-for-profit organization that provides supplemental scholarships, as well as essential support services, which open the doors to independent schools for African-American and other under-served students in grades pre-kindergarten through 12. However, assisting under-served youth from modest financial means gain, in particular African-American youth, entry into independent schools is only the beginning of BSF’s work.
Ensuring that each student's educational experience is positive and results in academic success is key when preparing them for life beyond the classroom. Therefore, Black Student Fund exists to assist African-American and under-served students and provides a supportive, positive environment for academic achievement.
Through our programs, BSF strives to advocate, educate and facilitate exceptional educational opportunities for students, their families and educators; diversify independent schools so that all children can pursue their dreams in enriching, nurturing and multicultural environments; and facilitate and offer an environment where students are challenged academically to achieve professional and personal success.
