Product Details Product Details

As a type of heat therapy, moxa will leave you feeling like you’ve just received a warm cozy hug, helping you feel better and heal better. Rooted in ancient Eastern Medicine, moxibustion (“moxa”) involves burning a cigar-shaped stick made of ground mugwort herb close to (but not touching) the skin — specifically over meridians and powerful acupuncture points.

This creates a gentle warming effect that stimulates points and improves the flow of Qi in the body. By expelling cold and warming pressure points and meridians, moxibustion can help boost and strengthen the immune system, heal tissues by increasing blood flow, improve digestion, help with fertility, ease anxiety and stress and replenish energy — all without the use of needles (we see you, needle-phobic besties!)

How it works: While moxa may seem a tad intimidating to use at first, it’s actually very easy and is perfect for our needle shy friends. After lighting one end of the cigar-shaped moxa stick and letting the flame smolder, hold the heated tip about 1-1.5 inches above the skin. Our healing moxa sticks are smokeless and relatively odorless and provide a warming, healing sensation.

Please note: It’s important to use caution when lighting and using moxa. Remember to keep the stick distanced from skin and avoid heating the same point for a prolonged period of time. Never leave a burning moxa stick unmonitored and ensure the stick is extinguished at the end of a treatment.

Materials: Our moxa sticks are hand rolled from a natural high purity mugwort herb.

Main ingredients: artemisia absinthium (mugwort; wormwood), angelica sinensis (ginseng) and other precious herbal extracts.
